About me

I am a professional portrait artist based in the UK. Specialising in realistic oil paintings, my subjects of choice include both people and animals. I studied at the University of Lincoln in 2007, where I received a BA Hons in Illustration. Since then I have been fortunate to be able to take on and deliver commissioned portraits of pets and people from around the world. I have also had paintings on display at exhibitions by Spoke Art in New York, San Francisco, Hawaii, and Los Angeles.

Alongside my portrait work I enjoy painting wildlife from around the world. It's an appealing thought to take one fleeting moment from an animals life, study it, and create an art piece to stand the test of time (or at least some time). As well as capturing the diverse beauty of the animals on our planet, in these paintings I also like to showcase the subject in action and/or explore animal behaviour. Apart from simply producing new paintings of a subject I enjoy, this is an opportunity to promote and inform on the conservation of species of concern, and of personal interest. To further this goal, I have worked with Ashia Cheetah Conservation to produce two of my pieces, donating a portion of the sale price of both the original and prints. I hope to continue this relationship and include more charities as my career progresses.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss any paintings you like, whether about the original or prints, or to commission new work from me.
